Franz Ferdinand’s Second of 2009

Franz Ferdinand are to release their second album of the year later this month. Blood is the result of the band’s recording sessions with producer Dan Carey last year.

The album features a new song Be Afraid alongside a handful of dub bersions of tracks from Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, released earlier this year.

Lead singer Alex Kapranos described Blood’s producer Carey as having “a different dynamic than other producers. He’s coming from that Jamaican perspective – there’s much more space; the bass guitar leads a lot more on this record than anything else.”
