John Farnham Tours

Brace yourselves Australia – there’s a take-no-prisoners epidemic a-coming. Swine Flu? Hell no – we’re talking about John Farnham mania.

So let me get this straight… ‘The Last Time’ wasn’t the last time for John ‘Whispering Jack’ Farnham and he’s on tour again?

And he’s doing another album?

Not content to sit at home and enjoy retirement from the tour circuit, Farnsy has announced details of a new national tour, Live by Demand. More intimate than The Last Time stadium and circus-tent event (which doesn’t appear to have been the ‘last time’ after all), Farnham will play theatres and wineries across Sydney, Hobart, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne in September and October 2009.

With the tour announced, it’s also confirmed that Farnham is scouting material for a new album. New chums Coldplay are high on the list for a possible tune, plus there are rumours of a special Christmas collaboration in the mix.

One of Australia’s most successful musicians and all round ‘nice guy’, Farnham still holds the record for the highest selling album in Australia by an Australian artist with his 1986 album Whispering Jack. The album spent 25 weeks at number one in the charts, shifted more than a million units and featured Farnham’s biggest hit to date, You’re the Voice.
