Chickenfoot – Where Have You Been All My Life?

I have only just discovered Chickenfoot. Apparently their first performance together was in February 2008 at a Sammy Hagar concert in Las Vegas. When I read that, I had that terrible sinking feeling – perhaps I don’t have my finger on the pulse of music that I thought I had! But then I read that their debut album came out on June 5th, 2009. Ahh – my journalistic integrity is still intact.

Chickenfoot is an American hard rock band and, as I mentioned, they formed in 2008. The band is considered a supergroup as it features four established stars: vocalist Sammy Hagar (formerly of Van Halen and Montrose), bassist Michael Anthony (also ex-Van Halen), guitarist Joe Satriani, and drummer Chad Smith (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers).

The band’s goofy name and logo are a reference to a disparaging term used to describe the peace symbol, the “footprint of the American chicken”.

Check out their first single “Oh Yeah”. It is as epic as one would expect from such legends of rock:
