Mammal Announce Split

Melbourne-based rock quartet – and one of my favourite Australian hard rock acts – Mammal, have officially split.

The announcement was made yesterday via a post on their website that says:

Due to long standing personal, political, musical and business differences, Mammal has decided it cannot continue and is no more.

Ezekiel Ox will be releasing the debut album for his folk/rock outfit THE OX AND THE FURY early 2010… Pete, Nick and Zane will continue to work together with a new project scheduled for 2010.

The split caused the last minute cancellation of a gig scheduled for 31 October at Space Nightclub in Sydney.

The band has also cancelled two Victorian all-ages gigs and a UK tour scheduled for November.
